Our commitment
What Italy has taught us
ICEA-certified organic farming
No pesticides, no chemical fertilisers, in respect of soils and seasons.
Artisanal production
Small batches, manual craftsmanship, recipes passed from generation to generation.
Several terroirs, one standard
From Apulian oil to specialities of the South — almonds, citrus, Sicilian recipes — Italian ingredients chosen region by region, always organic.
ICEA: one of Italy's main organic and environmental certification bodies.
La Madre Terra grew from a simple conviction: eating well and doing well are not opposed. Its extra virgin olive oil comes from Puglia; its sauces, pestos and preserves from a workshop in Emilia-Romagna where every batch is small and every gesture counts. The thread between them is exacting standards — of taste as much as of work.

La Madre Terra's extra virgin olive oil is cold-extracted: in the mouth it opens on a fruity roundness then leaves a light bitterness on the finish — the sign of olives picked at perfect ripeness. The tomato sauces, pestos and preserves follow the same logic: small batches, ICEA-certified ingredients, no preservatives, minimal intervention to let the product speak.
The house was born in the 1980s within La Fraternità, a social cooperative in Rimini. Its processing laboratory — La Pietra Scartata — is also a socio-occupational centre that welcomes people in vulnerable situations, offering them a relationship with work founded on care and precision. This context doesn't change the taste of the product. It explains why the artisanal gesture is never for show.

What sets La Madre Terra apart is a rare consistency between what's on the plate and their convictions. The ICEA organic certification is a requirement, not a marketing argument. The small batches are a deliberate constraint — because a human-scale workshop produces differently from a factory, and that difference is tasted. Every jar is an invitation to slow down: to smell the oregano before opening, to taste a tomato sauce as one would read a handwritten letter.
Extra virgin olive oils, tomato sauces, pestos, honeys and Mediterranean preserves — all ICEA-certified organic.
