In southern Italy, cooperatives farm land taken back from the mafia. In Padua and Palermo, people in detention work in pastry and baking. In Rimini, a social cooperative welcomes people in vulnerable situations into its workshop.
The taste of Puglia
The extra virgin olive oil from Puglia, cold-extracted; the sauces, pestos and spreads, made in small batches in Rimini, in the workshop of a social cooperative.
From the land to the community
The pasta and the passata. The durum wheat is grown organically on land confiscated from the mafia and entrusted to social cooperatives under a 1996 law.
The craft of Padua
The naturally leavened panettoni and, all year round, savoury biscuits. Since 2005 the pastry workshop has been inside the Due Palazzi prison in Padua, where people in detention work alongside master pastry chefs.
A new path, in Palermo
The Sicilian grissini and biscuits, shaped by hand in Palermo. The workshop began in 2016 inside the Malaspina juvenile detention institute, where young people learn the baker's trade. In 2019 Gambero Rosso named it Italy's best social food project.
Every December, Pasticceria Giotto hand-crafts its panettoni with natural leaven, in their workshop in Padua. Six flavours, in one-kilo pieces, for a gift that marks the year's end.

The full composition and the allergens of each reference are on its product page and on the packaging. All panettoni contain gluten (wheat), eggs and milk; Cioccolato and Fichi also contain soy.
For the panettoni, preordering stays open at any time: they reach you as soon as they arrive at Réalise, in early December. After that date, the remaining panettoni go on sale in the shop while stocks last. For the gift boxes, assembled on request, allow at least 30 days before the delivery date you want. For delivery before Christmas, order before 16 November.
